Overview
Last Man in Tower is a Hindi drama about Yogesh Mishra, a retired schoolteacher known to everyone as Masterji, who lives in an ageing housing society in Mumbai. When a powerful builder offers the residents a generous redevelopment deal, almost everyone agrees to sell and move on, but Masterji refuses, because the small flat he lives in holds the memories of his late wife and the life he has known for decades.
India, 2026. As developer Dharmen Shah presses ahead with his plans and the neighbours turn against the one man standing in their way, Masterji finds himself alone against his own community. Mrs Puri, whose hopes for a better life for her son clash with his stand, and the other residents must each decide what their home, their memories and their future are really worth.
Last Man in Tower is a quiet, powerful story of greed, memory and belonging: one man’s refusal to give up his home becomes a test of an entire society, asking what progress costs when it comes at the price of the people it is supposed to help.
