Overview
Karuppu is a 2026 Tamil fantasy action drama directed by RJ Balaji and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. The film stars Suriya — in his 45th film as a lead actor — alongside Trisha Krishnan, RJ Balaji and Indrans, with music by Sai Abhyankkar.
In a world where justice falters, the guardian deity Vettai Karuppu takes human form as a newly-transferred lawyer named Saravanan to battle a corrupt legal system preying on the powerless — a divine courtroom drama that trades writing depth for heroic highs.
Released theatrically on 15 May 2026 and streaming on Prime Video from 12 June 2026, Karuppu became Suriya’s career-best hit and the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026 so far, crossing Rs 300 crore worldwide.
