Overview
Sardar 2 is a 2026 Tamil spy action thriller directed by P. S. Mithran — the sequel to the 2022 hit Sardar. Karthi returns in a demanding dual role as both Sardar Chandra Bose, the legendary spy, and Inspector Vijay Prakash, his son, alongside S. J. Suryah, Malavika Mohanan and Ashika Ranganath.
When a man driven by revenge sets his sights on a bio-weapon capable of triggering an apocalypse, a father-son duo of secret agents must team up once again to stop him. The film serves as both a prequel and a sequel — exploring the origin story of the legendary spy Sardar while pushing the present-day story forward, as R&AW agent Vijay Prakash confronts the villain known as Black Dagger.
Released theatrically on 10 September 2026 and streaming on Prime Video from 1 October 2026 in five languages, the film features music by Sam CS.
