Overview
Hope is an epic science-fiction monster thriller set in the remote coastal village of Hope Harbor, near the Korean Demilitarized Zone, where a quiet community is shaken by a mysterious creature. When wildfires cut off communications and outside help cannot reach the village, police chief Bum-seok and rookie officer Sung-ae must try to protect the people around them from a threat no one fully understands.
South Korea, 2026. As the village goes on alert, a hunting party led by tracker Sung-ki heads into the mountains to find the creature, only to find itself being hunted in return. Fear, confusion and conflicting views among the villagers turn an already dangerous situation into a much larger crisis, and every attempt to take control brings new and unexpected danger.
Hope is a chaotic, inventive survival story: Bum-seok, Sung-ae, Sung-ki and the other villagers all face the same question of how to survive when help is far away, trust is breaking down, and the danger in the mountains is closer than anyone expected.
